Power struggles between the shoguns became prominent in the Sengoku period in Japan. In Sengoku: Warring States, players compete in a series of rounds to defeat their opponent’s daimyo or destroy the majority of their villages. Players deploy units face down from their hands to either attack opposing villages or defend their own. Attacks get through if blocked by no unit or a weaker unit and deal damage to a village. Special abilities can allow for more strategic deployments.
